My Story
Charisse Gonzalez is a nationally certified and battle-tested Physician Assistant with over two decades of distinguished service in military and trauma medicine. As a full-time provider at Shield of Odin, she brings an elite background in operational medicine, combat casualty care, and complex medical training to the veterans and service members she now serves in civilian practice.

Charisse earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and is a graduate of the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. Her military medical career spans from frontline trauma support in Afghanistan to executive-level roles in medical education, program development, and operational command within the U.S. Army’s most elite units.

Prior to joining Shield of Odin, Charisse served as Group Physician Assistant at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, overseeing the medical readiness of airborne cadres and training the next generation of special operations medics. She has held leadership posts including Program Director for Tactical Combat Medical Care, Company Commander at the Special Warfare Medical Group, and Battalion PA for both Civil Affairs and Combat Engineer units. Her roles included instruction, curriculum development, trauma simulation, and mission-critical clinical care both in garrison and in deployed environments.

Charisse is a decorated combat veteran and recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. She holds advanced training certifications in Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Flight Medicine, Jumpmaster Operations, SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape), and Tropical Medicine. She is certified in ACLS, PALS, and BLS and holds a current national PA-C credential.

At Shield of Odin, she continues her mission of operational excellence by providing comprehensive medical evaluations, Nexus Letters, DBQ exams, and long-term clinical support with the same precision and integrity she demonstrated in military service.
