With 28 years of experience in healthcare, Kendra Lawrence brings a comprehensive background in acute, primary, and integrative care to her work with Veterans. She began her career as a registered nurse working across Level I and Level II trauma centers, emergency departments, intensive care units, and leadership roles including charge nurse and house supervisor.

As an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she has served in multiple high-acuity settings, including hospitalist medicine in Level I and II trauma centers, urgent care, hospice, and critical-care environments. She later transitioned into primary care, where she helped launch and lead a multi-service outpatient clinic for Crescent Medical Center, providing primary care, urgent care, occupational health, pain management, and family medicine.

Kendra has also delivered mobile primary care services and has extensive experience treating Veterans throughout her clinical career. Coming from a Veteran-oriented family, she developed a strong passion for supporting those who served. Her work expanded in 2023 as she began providing medical evaluations, DBQs, Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs), and Nexus Letters both through her private practice and as a contracted clinician supporting VA-related claim assessments through third-party organizations.

Her dedication to whole-person care—including physical, emotional, and mental health—led her to pursue further specialization. She is currently completing her Post-Master’s Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), strengthening her ability to address the mental health needs of Veterans with a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach.
